On Wednesday, our class took a field trip to the Norton Simon Museum. The bus ride was long and boring until we got there. It is by the street where the rose parade goes by. When we got there it was before the museum opened but we had a private tour from a nice old lady. She led us through the 17th, 18th, and 19th, century paintings. We saw a portrait of a boy which was unfinished. We saw old church-like paintings about Jesus. And we saw a still life painting of oranges, lemons, and a rose. There was also a little cup on a plate next to the rose. I liked this painting because it was small and realistic. Many of the artists had there names in front of the places that they were from. One artist who did this was Rembrandt. I liked many of the Western Europe artwork because it was colorful and realistic. We ate lunch after crossing the street and ate on a patch of grass near some apartments. The patch of grass was dedicated to the mothers of troops. After we went back, we went with our groups and went back into the museum. Our group went to the bathroom first and then the gift shop. I bought a little music box with Van Gogh's Irises on the cover. I also got a Vincent van Gogh doll. We went into the museum and saw van Gogh's "the Bedroom". I knew this piece was famous. We saw works from Picasso and works from the 20th century. There was a room that only had paintings and statues of naked ladies. I liked that one. We looked at the Indian art which was pretty cool. Then we went outside and looked at the gardens.
