On Monday, January 18, 2016 was Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Martin Luther King Jr. was a extraordinarily important person who changed the course of history for the United States of America and for African Americans. Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta Georgia. He married Correta Scott King in 1953 and had four children. King is known for giving his famous speech "I Have a Dream". King was such a gifted student that he enrolled in college at the age of 15. Because of his "civil disobedience", Martin Luther King Jr. was jailed twenty nine times. Sadly, King was assassinated April 4, 1968. King was a very important individual including Rosa Parks and Malcom X that changed everything for black people. It is very unfortunate that someone ill minded and insane shot him while he was embracing the nice scenery on his motel balcony. Luckily, the man who assassinated Martin Luther King Jr. was caught and arrested trying to escape the United States of America with a fake passport. In class, we talked about the meaning of the "n" word and how it should never be spoken at any circumstances whatsoever. The word probably started at the beginning of the 20th century. The word became meaner and meaner. Today, there is still racism everywhere and we need to stop it. Even after Martin Luther King Jr. changed the hearts of so many people, there are some who still hate. Everyone is equal and is equally loved by God. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&
