![]() The Schwa was Here is a humorous mystery novel that I really enjoyed. It starts with Antsy Bonano, who is a 14 year old boy. Antsy is sarcastic and funny. I personally like Antsy because he is witty and humorous. Neal Shusterman, who is the author, made this book amazing. While Antsy is trying to destroy a dummy that his dad gets him, he meets Calvin Schwa. Calvin is a meek, invisible boy who never gets noticed. Antsy experiments on him and comes to the conclusion that Calvin is in fact invisible to four out of five people. They use Calvin's power to make money off of bets. But one day, Mr. Crawley, who is a cranky, old man, catches them and makes them walk his dogs every day. Crawley makes Antsy date his granddaughter named Lexie. Lexie and Antsy go off to find Calvin's mother who left him at the age of five. Antsy meets the butcher who knows where Calvin's mother went. Calvin shows Antsy the billboard that he rented which said "Calvin Schwa was here". Unfortunately the street which was under the billboard was closed so no one would see it. Calvin is very angry. Then, Antsy takes Calvin to the butcher who stated that his mother left him and went with the butcher. This made Calvin even more angry. Calvin disappears. Antsy looks everywhere for him and gets a letter from him in the mail. It states that Calvin found his mother in Florida and they lived happily together. http://www.bookrags.com/studyguide-the-schwa-was-here/
